Obituary for Mitchell Mason

Mitchell “Mitch” Mason, 80, was called home to the Lord on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. Although he leaves an impossible gap to fill, his family takes solace in the fact that he has been reunited with the love of his life, his wife Patsy.

Mitch was a devout Christian who loved Jesus and lived a life that reflected his faith. Mitch not only never met a stranger, but he went out of his way to make everyone he crossed paths with feel special. It was simply impossible to interact with Mitch and not come away with a smile on your face and warmth in your heart.

Mitch proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a proud member of the Faith Masonic Lodge #756 and was an avid outdoorsman in his younger years. He was a proud graduate and supporter of ORHS, often working the gates of games to show his support.

Mitch is survived by Amanda Sharp Angel, his granddaughter and caregiver during his final years. Great grandchildren, Rilee Walls, Cobe (Micah) Waterson, Jayce Sharp, and Anthony Angel; Great great grandchild, Chandler Waterson; Siblings, Phyllis Carter of Shalimar, FL, Fred (Mary) Mason of Oliver Springs, TN, Pat (Wayne) Harrill, of Knoxville, TN, and Judy (Dr. Bud) Boyd of Muskogee, OK, and several nieces and nephews. Son, Ken (Angela) Hall and family. Mitch is preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Mason; parents, Fred and Pearl Mason; brother, Jimmy Mason; sister, Faye Coots; and grandson, Jason Sharp.
